The mission of the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is to protect public health and to safeguard and improve the natural environment - air, water, and land - upon which human life depends.
Visit the EPA web site. Click on "About the EPA" and then select "Our History." Select three historical accomplishments of the EPA and write a one-page summary about them.

The Health Effects Institute (HEI) is an independent, nonprofit corporation chartered in 1980 to provide high-quality, impartial, and relevant science on the health effects of air pollution.
Visit the HEI web site. Click on "Publications" and then select "Publications Database." Select one report and write a one-page summary about the report.

Solid Waste and Emergency Response Headquarters is located within the Environmental Protection Agency and provides Agency-wide policy, guidance and direction for the Agency's solid waste and emergency response programs. The Headquarters develops guidelines and standards for the land disposal of hazardous wastes and for underground storage tanks.
Visit the Solid Waste and Emergency Response web site. Find "Top Stories" and then select one story or article that is listed and write a half-page summary about the article.
